Founded in 1981, York Writers has a long and
continuous association with writing and the City
of York with such notables as Charles Whiting -
Leo Kessler - Fire Over Kabul, York Blitz and the controversial Hemingway Goes to War; John Baker -
White Skin Man, The Chinese Girl; Poet Pat Borthwick -
Between Clouds and Caves, Littlewood Arc
; and founder
member Bill Bradley achieving significant
writing success.

During the last decade York Writers has published
three annual short story and poetry collections,
and the York Experience Anthology.

More recently we have formed an association with
York Hospital Radio, one of the UK’s top hospital
radio-stations to broadcast the work of our members
and other nationally successful authors associated
with
York Writers.

 Objectives of York Writers

To share practical experience and to encourage
new writers.
To help members become published in their
chosen expertise.

 

Annual subscriptions of £15.00(members under 21 or unwaged, £8.00)
Due in January, 2008 

The group meets fortnightly on Wednesday at
Guppy’s Enterprise Club, 17, Nunnery Lane, York.

Doors open at 7.45pm
